their response is none of your business

Hot button word of the year, BULLY. Now I remember bullying being around since I was in Kindergarten(about 28 years ago). My brother and sister tell stories of bullying when they were in kindergarten(39years ago). Did we have thicker skin? Are  kids  are overreacting? Is it just more publisized and media-fied now more than 3 decades ago?

I remember several of my encounters with my bullies, none of them were fun, often times I would come home upset. How did my parents react? Of course they were empathetic and would want to talk to the parents of the other kids, well that was not what I wanted them to do, so I 'took care of it.' Just as my brother and sister had taken care of their bullies. By taking care of it, this makes me the bully right? Now I don't condone 'taking care of it'... it is just how we did back then. (I sound like a Mob Boss haha) In many instances taking care of the situation only makes it worse and/or more violent. However, I am not sure that the current way of handleing the situation is the best either. It seems that we are more REACTIVE as opposed to PROACTIVE. The school systems don't want it to happen therefore they don't 'see' it until too late and then some child gets labeled BULLY. Isn't this what we are trying to avoid, labels, stereotypes, and prejuding?  In my opinion we should be teaching social skills to pre-schoolers. This is how we speak to one another, this is how we control our impulses ect....

We as parents don't see our children as much as we should or maybe we do. I don't know what the anwser is, I know that in our house it is never okay to put your hands on anyone. In our house we talk it out, and if you can't talk it out with the other person, tell your truth and leave it at that. Their response is none of your business.

GOD Help us!!

U r unemployed

un·em·ploy·ment

noun /ˌənimˈploimənt/

1.                                                     The state of being unemployed
2.                                                     The number or proportion of unemployed people

I am going to start out by saying how much I truly have a love, hate relationship with unemployment. First let me explain that this is the first time since I have been legally employable that I have been without a job. However, I am not sure if it is the stigma that is keeping me unemployed or if the market is over-saturated, or if it is me as a person. I have been called to many interviews, I have had many people tell me that I would have been their choice, if that other person had not mention that they could do this or that. The fact of the matter is that I too could do this or that, but failed to mention it because the interview didn’t go this or that way. I am skilled; my resume does not define me. It will be a year next month. I have applied at several places twice. I have interview at several places; I can’t help but believe that I am not the problem.

I have work study and have applied for every position that I am eligible for, this is free money folks, and yet I remain unemployed. I regret to inform you that although you did meet the requirements you have not been chosen at this time. How about we don’t regret, because I really am not sure you regret to inform, I think maybe some of you regret your choice. Instead of the standard, why not be real? Why not say I didn’t enjoy our conversation and had a better one with so and so. Or why not lead off with I would have loved to hire you, but John’s niece needed a job so you are out. Sorry maybe if you know someone on the inside I can get you a job. Thank you but you answered the question about chocolate wrong; the answer is yes we love it only we never eat it, not what you said. We never tell the truth here!

I hate the stigmas, I hate that my sister says, “Yeah you don’t want people to think that you are one of THOSE people” What the fuck does that mean. In your opinion I should get me some non-slip shoes, a nametag and a drive-thru headset. Well I suppose it may come to that but at this point in my life I am not ready to regress. I am not just some Ass on the couch. I look for work daily, I go to college, and I want something out of life. Even though I disliked my previous employment, I did not want to be the next to get canned. I have loyalty and motivation to be a great employee, no matter the circumstances. Can I please get a chance?

Happy helpers

I don't know if this picture will post, but here is the story. Our boys are pretty sweet, but let's be honest they are children of this technology driven era. Therefore they really don't want to clean or work or do anything that isn't going to 'pay off.' So we were floored when no complaints came out of their sweet little mouths yesterday when we asked them to go and help an elderly neighbor with his yardwork. They just said "OK" knowing full well there would be no 'Pay' involved. They worked on his yard for an hour and a half no problem....!!! They came home with little stories and bits of enjoyment!!

I will see what they have to say come Wednesday when we have our yard to do, they will go missing for those 2 hours I suppose Haha!!

Needless to say, I am a proud momma!!

Balls and the state!

Here we are in the heart of summer happiness, all the kids in a program mom and dad still killing themselves to make it all work. I guess we are a typical American family, of course with a few quirks here and there. I suppose when have one parent who is on occasion somewhat inappropriate, your kids will come up with some off the wall shit in public. For instance, yesterday as we were visiting our local DMV (which I like to go at least 4times for the same issue) my kids are counting to our number, always fun when u start at 843 and your number is 910. Anyhow, we are almost done and I of course am as calm as ever and always excited to pay exuberant amounts of money to the state. As we are walking to get into one final line and my son informs me and the rest of the state of Nevada that his balls are stuck to his leg, now normally I would handle this and create a teaching moment....ok come on I am not that girl, I know!! Uhg normally I would ....let's get this straight there is no normally for me; I completely lost my cool and let everyone in the state of Nevada know how great of a Mom I really am, I am sure people were taking notes. Well as soon as I could gain composure I then made comments that were a little more appropriate for the situation. It seems that this happens more often than not in my life LOL!!! So next time you see a crazed mother and three lunatic boys running a muck in the DMV, just wave and say hi!!

In the age of instant gratification, and super technology our society has got this idea that we, humans, are all disposable. More and more you hear how this person is moving on to this or that person. Even more on the up rise is that ‘she’ is not dating boys anymore now ‘she’ is with girls or vice versa. More and more people are getting treated like objects. I am not sure if it is a product of the technological world that we all live in now; where no one talks face to face or on the phone or if it is defiance from a generation past.

Currently if you cannot communicate in 140 characters or less then you are taking too long. Generations past would appreciate a phone call or an impromptu visit from a friend. And by friend we mean someone with whom we have carried on face to face conversations and not only do we know their last name, we know the names of their parents, their husbands and their children. We have been to their home, ridden in their car; we have seen them in the grocery store, out on the town, and at their place of work. These people that you generously label friend are only someone that you can recognize if they are wearing their hair the way they did in their profile picture. Friends that you have never met not knowing their morals or values; you all agree on one political poll or superficial group, naming something unimportant, and all of the sudden in that instant you decide to open yourself (or your portrayal of yourself) to this person and offer them your friend label. You would rather have this stranger added to your list of friends rather than your grandmother or grandfather. Is this because you would like to portray yourself as someone you are not, or an alter ego that you believe society would enjoy to read about or look at; what do grandmothers and grandfathers know about current society anyway?

This friend that you just added to your ‘list’ he or she has beefed up his profile to mirror what they believe is important for society to see, they don’t really want you or society to know that they don’t go out partying every Friday night to a different club, really those 15 pictures you are looking at those are from one random night last year. And hopefully you don’t catch on to the fact that they like to look at nature at its most intimate moments, right before the sun rises over the misty mountain tops, hopefully you will think that they posted that on accident, so to confuse you, they make some off the cuff remark to make everyone LOL at their picture.

We facebookers, tweeters, and myspacers all want to be accepted and not placed in the rejection pile, we search for those who will accept us, not for who we are, but just those that will accept us, as long as we can fit into their ‘list’, if not we will be substituted for another.

it calls for Lemonade,

Times call for lemonade, it is a turning point in our lives again. Did I see this coming? I don't know. Did I wish for this? sure, but the fear of it all over rides the immense weight that it once carried. I became a statistic today, I am one of the 15% of NV that is unemployed. Due to the recession my employer had to let me go. I believe that she was emotionally touched today. . . hard for one to believe if you knew her. I also know that she is a business women and must keep her business and family a float.

These things are not what effect me most.
I fear being unemployed, I am not one who is without a job, even in the days when I was using or unhealthy I still maintained employment, mostly because I had 3 young boys to support. I would like to believe that is what I am good at, being an employee.

I can't even comprehend the amount of fear and pressure I am putting on myself at this point in time. The emotions have not even caught up to me yet. It is still all fresh. . . this may have been something that I was hoping for but still not prepared for. I know the toxic environment that I was in and how it allowed me to stay in my sick place. This will give me the opportunity for growth and change. Something I long for. This will give me the chance to show myself that I am more than just a provider, that I can be the stereotypical female, housewife and PTA mom...ha ha you might chuckle a little if you knew me. So there it is folks, expect to hear (read) more from me, seeing as I have a bit more time on my hands now a days...

Neighbors

As I sit here eating my yummy red grapes, trying to get motivated to write my 2 page paper on "Guess who's coming to dinner", I find myself a little peeved with my neighbors.  First allow me to express how I operate on a daily, I work, go to school, and then come home, family time, and then do homework. I deal with people all day long, my job I deal with pissed and obnoxious people all day (I work for a repossession company), at school I am in situations where I must socialize or at least make conversation with someone at some point. Saying all of this I have not much need or want to deal with any other outsiders, just my own family members and sometimes that is even a stretch.

Now let me get to these neighbors of mine, they seem to be the social type, walking up and down the block chatting with everyone, they have caught me a few times and I probably make it shorter than necessary, but that is just how I operate with everyone.  The other day we are shopping and run into them, my husband and I chat with them for a few minutes. Then a few days later my husband is putting new brakes on one of our vehicles, Ty, our neighbor, comes over and wants to shoot the shit... My husband continues working while they chat for quite some time. Then Ty asks my husband where I am from originally and my husband tells him Montana, and it seems as though Ty has an epiphany. He says "Oh that is why she treats me like that." My husband is a little confused but is still working on the truck, so just rolls with it and says "ok."  So our neighbor continues in saying yeah its okay though cause it happens to him all the time.
After dinner a few nights later, my husband tells me the conversation and I am surprised that he has even said this and pissed that I got lumped in a group and stereotyped so quickly. Let me add that my neighbor is a black man. He always mentions his size and how hard it is for him. I find it interesting that he played the race card...because I don't chit-chat with his white wife either.
All this just solidifies the fact that people will say what they know and choose to hear and feel what they want.
If I were to let him in and converse with this man he might find out that I was raised in a very white, union centered, shallow town, where my family was one of the few mixed families. He may also find out that the color of his skin and the color of my skin doesn't matter to me...there is much more I am interested in...the human RACE interests me, how we work on the inside is my field of study....or maybe he won't!!!

1st

Hi world, just lemme give you a little of who I am,on the general I am a nobody just like the rest of you. I am just on this ride hoping first to be a great Wife, great Mom (saving for therapy now, haha) and overall good person. I would like to knock on the pearly gates with a calm heart and open hand. I work at an average job, which I don't love, I go to school (college) so that I don't have to go to the average job anymore. My husband works his tail off to provide and gives all of himself all of the time. He also works at a job he dislikes...I have found that this is just a part of the journey. Most of the wise ones tell me "oh yea we had the same struggles, same wants, same hates, and same whoo hoos" I would be more professional, but I just don't feel like it today...my day was rough to say the least. Well I could cry and whine, but not today you don't get any of that, sorry we will save the good stuff for later...well its time for chewies and snuggle with my hubby for a while...g'night ya'll
